What does AAU track stand for?
The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) is an amateur sports organization based in the United States. A multi-sport organization, the AAU is dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs.
What age does AAU track start?
Starting blocks are optional for all age groups except the 15-16 Year Old and 17-18 Year Old age divisions in the AAU Track & Field program. The 15-16 Year Old and 17-18 Year Old age divisions must use starting blocks for 100m, 200m and 400m races and the first leg of all relays where that leg does not exceed 400m.

Do AAU teams travel?
Some players might be talented enough and have the means to travel throughout the summer as part of an elite AAU team. The rest stay home and play when they can, whether at an open gym or in outdoor pickup games at a local park or residence.
