What age is Masters in athletics?
New South Wales Masters Athletics caters for male and female athletes aged 30 and over who live in New South Wales, Australia. Our Association is the state body for athletics in NSW, as well as an Athletics NSW affiliated Club, and represents fitness, fun and fellowship across a range of athletic activities.
What is Masters category in running?
Most races have one catch-all division called “Masters” which covers all runners age 40 and up. So if, by chance, a 50-year-old is the first runner age 40-and-up across the line, he is declared the “Masters” champion. This “Masters” division is then supplemented by either 5 or 10 year age groups starting at age 40.

As a new or returning runner, you may have come across the term Masters Running or Veteran Runner and are wondering what that means. A Masters Runner is a runner, male or female, over the age of 40. You may have also heard the term Veteran Runner. This is a term akin to the Master Runner but just less used these days.

There are no qualifying performance standards for the World Masters. From elite competitors to recreational athletes, everyone is welcome. Players must be on the team’s regional event roster in order to compete in the USA Ultimate Masters Series. c. After the Team Registration Deadline, team managers may edit and add up to a maximum of 28 players to their USA Ultimate Masters Series event roster until the Final Event Roster Deadline (see below).

Traditionally, it used to be 40 and only in recent years, perhaps for gender equality, the men’s veteran category in many cases falls in line with the women’s at 35. It’s certainly a bit of a grey area (in more ways than one for most of us!).

Many races follow the USATF (USA Track & Field) standard when it comes to breaking down the age groups. This includes 5 or 10-year groupings. The 5 year age groups are: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-24, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, and 90 and over.
What age is a master?
Master is a title for an underage male. If a person is under 18, master would be used. Once a person turns 18 and enters adulthood, mister would be used. Today, however, master is antiquated and appears only rarely.
How do adults compete in track and field?
Adult Members who wish to compete for a club outside of their Association of residency, must submit a request for an Association Transfer through USATF Connect. Age verification is required for some Adult Competitions.
